About Us
Excelsior ACDs has grown and is now a two person operation. We are a hobby breeder of Australian Cattle Dogs, passionate about preserving this great breed and showcasing our dogs versatility. We aim to produce dogs that are a reflection of the breed standard, with particular emphasis on type, soundness, temperament and drive. We primarily breed with the aim to keep potential prospects back for our program, whether in our home or in trusted co-own homes. Our dogs participate in a variety of events including flyball, agility, conformation, barnhunt, dock diving, herding, fastcat and more. We plan to continue exploring the performance world with our dogs, and continue showcasing the abilities of this breed on and off the farm.
We are located in central Wisconsin and frequently travel throughout the Midwest for dog events of all varieties. We are always happy to meet up at an event if anyone has interest in getting to know more about our dogs and our program. Also happy to help anyone on their search for a well bred cattle dog; even if you don't buy a pup from us, we can refer you to some ethical ACD breeders who may have what you are looking for. A Note: Stance on Generative AI
Dogs that we keep in our home as a part of our breeding program will never be editted with generative AI (Chat GPT and similar engines). Any images on our website or social media pages of our dogs will never be run through generative AI. Any edits to any of our dog's photos is done via Photoshop or Gimp, and never editted in a way that alters the dog's conformation or appearance. We believe in supporting real artists, graphic designers, photographers and small creative businesses; any images on our website or social media is from those sources, or taken by us with our own cameras and edited for proper lighting. Likewise, we believe in presenting our dogs honestly and see no reason to alter their appearance artificially. What you see is what you get.
